Position Summary
As a key member of the Finance organization, the Manager, Data Operations & Analytics will oversee efforts to enhance data strategy, operations, and analytics across Legence. This position will serve as a critical connector between Finance, IT, and Business Unit leaders.
This newly created leadership role is responsible for evolving our enterprise-wide data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytics initiatives. The Manager will play a leading role in the deployment and optimization of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) technology and Business Intelligence (BI) tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, analytical acumen, and the ability to communicate strategic insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Analytics Leadership
- Lead complex financial and operational data projects that enhance visibility into core revenue drivers such as construction and service project performance.
- Drive the development of dashboards and reports that identify opportunities and risks across the project portfolio.
- Partner with business units to evolve and align data models to operational and financial priorities.
- Systems Development & Optimization
- Drive the development and maintenance of the EPM solution architecture, ensuring consistency with financial systems and alignment with business needs.
- Partner with Accounting to develop a standardized chart of accounts and improve transparency across systems.
- Oversee and optimize planning and reporting workflows within the EPM.
- Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design and manage company-wide KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks that support executive-level decision making.
- Lead monthly reporting and analytics efforts to evaluate financial health, including productivity, EBITDA margin, cash conversion, and return on capital.
- Operational Data Management
- Ensure accurate reporting of GAAP financials and operational performance through robust data governance and process design.
- Provide insights and analysis that translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for business leaders and stakeholders.
- Performance Measurement & KPI Tracking
- Oversee the development and implementation of performance tracking systems for key business metrics, including revenue, margin, backlog, and project execution.
- Deliver concise, insightful updates and recommendations to executive leadership and investors.
- System Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the execution and continuous improvement of EPM and BI tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support post-implementation optimization and the institutionalization of best practices.
- M&A Integration Support
- Partner with the Accounting, Business Development, and EPM teams to support integration of acquired businesses, including harmonizing data models, financial reporting, and performance tracking.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or financial operations; prior experience in a leadership or project ownership capacity preferred.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, SAP, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with EPM systems (e.g., Hyperion, Onestream) and financial reporting systems is a plus.
