Electrical Engineer Technician

Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing detailed plans and drawings for construction documents from redlines, rough sketches, and/or verbal direction from an Engineer. The Technician will ensure drawings are in line with company standards. This position will work with experienced technicians, designers, and engineers for guidance and project mentoring. They will interact and coordinate with architects, building owners, engineers, and other disciplines as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately create construction drawings.
  • Actively participate in construction meetings.
  • Accurately load calculations and select equipment.
  • Professionally address design problems and find effective solutions.
  • Occasionally required presence on-site to report technical findings.
  • Effectively collaborate with engineers to gain a general design concept.
  • Successfully communicate with clients, engineers, and architects to discover and implement expectations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Problem Solving
  • Problems generally involve the selection of choices from standard procedures, organizing work, and checking results. Answers are usually found from selection of documented choices determined by policies and/or procedures.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):

  • Associates degree in drafting or related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to follow close instructions and focus on details.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as project schedules and deadlines require.

Supervision Required

Performs tasks under frequent supervision; work is subject to detailed checks at regular intervals.

Decision-Making Impact:

Work may occasionally involve unique assignments; however, tasks will normally be described by standard work procedures and/or an immediate supervisor. Performs tasks according to standards, instructions, or readily understood procedures that require little interpretation. Work is subject to detailed checks at regular intervals. May occasionally make recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices. Recommendations to create efficiencies within work procedures, policies, and practices are always encouraged.

No/minimal decision-making impact.

Work Complexity:

Tasks are various and focus more on single processes. Work is sometimes standardized and sometimes varied.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not supervise.

Physical Requirements:

This position will require regular sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and vision. Occasionally, walking, climbing/balancing, reaching with arms, crouching/crawling, feeling/touching, and lifting/carrying objects weighing over 20lbs will be required.
