Overview:
CMTA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our team and lead the electrical design efforts for a wide range of commercial building projects including office spaces, retail environments, mixed-use developments, and more. In this role, you'll create innovative, code-compliant electrical systems that support functionality, safety, and client vision. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise electrical load calculations and properly size electrical equipment based on project needs.
  • Proactively resolve design challenges, balancing technical requirements with project timelines and budget.
  • Attend construction meetings, conduct job site visits, and coordinate with field teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, MEP teams, contractors, and clients to deliver integrated and cohesive project solutions.
  • Stay up to date on commercial building codes, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Support project schedules and budgets through effective coordination and communication.
  • Perform additional related duties to support team and project goals as needed.

Why Join CMTA?
Work on high-impact commercial projects that shape communities and enhance the way people work, shop, and interact. Join a collaborative team where your expertise in electrical systems will drive performance, innovation, and client satisfaction. We offer opportunities for professional growth, hands-on project involvement, and a strong culture of teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):

  • Familiar with NEC, IVC, NFPA101, and energy codes.
  • Proven ability to be a decision maker, open-minded, and creative thinker.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as project deadlines require.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
