Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects from start to finish. You’ll oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and compliance, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that requires both field and office collaboration with internal teams, clients, and vendors. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Project Planning & Execution 

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of construction projects to meet deadlines and maximize productivity
  • Manage project budgets, including labor, material, and equipment costs, from initiation through completion
  • Prepare and maintaincost tracking reports, payment billings, schedules, and change orders
  • Price, process, and track all project change orders; communicate adjustments to stakeholders
  • Develop and implement quality control programs to ensure consistent standards across all projects
  • Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, environmental regulations, and internal quality standards—promoting a safe, injury-free work environment throughout all phases of the project
  • Investigate and resolve incidents or delays, ensuring adherence to proper construction procedures and timelines
  • Oversee all BIM activities in partnership with the BIM Coordinator to ensure successful detailing and coordination
  • Manage activities during the warranty period to ensure client satisfaction and resolution of any post-construction issues 

Subcontractor & Team Coordination 

  • Review job drawings and specifications to determineconstruction methods and scope
  • Work collaboratively with Foremen, Submittal Coordinators, and Purchasing for timelyprocurement of materials and equipment 
  • Coordinate subcontractor documentation, work schedules, and materials 
  • Support vendor and subcontractor negotiations and help resolve worksite issues 
  • Engage regularly with field personnel and project stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure alignment

Client Communication & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants throughout the project
  • Conduct regular site visits and facilitateupdates on project progress, milestones, and key decisions
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff, design professionals, and clients to resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction challenges 

Project Leadership & Execution: 

Lead project teams, manage scope, timeand budget of projects, communicate effectivelyand mitigate risks to safely execute projects on time and within budget. 

Construction Knowledge & Field Coordination: 

Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure construction tasks are carried out to plan and coordinate with all necessary parties. Communicate instructions, updates, concerns, and issues to team members, supervisors, clientsand vendors to keep the project working efficiently. 

Budgeting, Cost Control, & Change Management: 

Provide financial analysis, budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, and variance analysis while creating and monitoringproject budgets and analyzing cost reports and communicating with stakeholders. 

Quality & Safety Compliance: 

Enhance processes to achieve positive results and identifyand mitigate hazards to maintaina safe work environment in compliance with all safety protocols. 

Communication & Team Collaboration: 

Effectively communicating with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. 

Strategic Problem Solving: 

Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems 

Client Relationship Management: 

Understand client needs, provide effective communication, and ensure customer satisfaction to strengthen and maintainrelationships with clients. 

Management of Personnel Resources: 

Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work to set performance standards and identifythe best people for the job. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

May be required to mentor Project Engineers and supervise Project Assistants. 

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required): 

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Construction Project Management with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Proficient in project scheduling, budgeting, and field operations
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction documentation
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and project management software
  • OSHA 10 or higher 

Salary Range

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000

Physical Requirements: 

  • Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and vision.
  • Position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Position requires workon a computer for extended periods of time.

 

Travel Requirements: 

Travel to jobsites and to meetwith clients, vendors, general contractorsand sub-contractors. 

 Pre-Screening Requirements: 

  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Successfully passa background check, drug screening, and employment verification.
