Job Summary: This individual is responsible for receiving incoming and outgoing shipments. Coordination with Gilbert Truck Scheduling. Responsible for organization of non-production portions of the warehouse and staging areas.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
• Receive deliveries and notify personnel/project managers as to what is received, where it is located and coordinate when it needs to be delivered to job sites. Received goods are to be identified by PO# and the interested parties are to be notified by scanning the packing list to their email. Some items may require research.
• Loading trucks for delivery to job sites from shop and schedule with Foreman, Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Make deliveries when drivers are on vacation, need a second hand, or we are short drivers. This is the exception and not the rule and is the last resort for this position.
• Responsible for the organization and cleaning of the shop delivery, staging, material warehouse and job storage areas. This includes: project manager bin area, SE warehouse area, mezzanine storage areas, job staging area and job staging rack. Special attention is to be made in identifying long term storage items and keeping the floor areas clean.
• Organize, clean and maintain building and grounds, parking lot and storage yard areas.
• Communicate effectively with Office Personnel, Sheet Metal Shop, Foreman, Trade Superintendents and fellow tool and warehouse personnel.
• Assist in completing safety items listed on audits in warehouse, sheet metal shop, pipe fab area, office and outdoor grounds. Proactively identify and correct safety risks and hazards on a daily basis.
• Assist in pulling complete tool lists and putting away tools when they come back from job sites.
• Assist in inspecting tooling before they go out and when they come back.
• Assist in barcoding/tracking newly purchased (and retired) tooling and tracking tooling.
Qualifications:
• Must possess effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional, safe and effective manner.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver’s license, be able to drive (preferred CDL license), and qualify under the company’s insurance carrier when driving a company vehicle.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification and operate forklifts in shop and yard.
• Ability to obtain scissors lift certification and operate lifts at warehouse.
• Ability to load/unload heavy items with the use of pallet jacks, lift gate, carts, dolly’s and forklift.
• Maintain a perpetual safety mindset with the ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions and practices.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Construction-related business experience preferred
