Construction Technology Specialist (Temporary – 3 Months)
Location: San Jose, CA; Full-time onsite

Overview
Therma, a Legence company, is seeking a Construction Technology Specialist to support the continued advancement and integration of digital construction tools across our operations. This role will play a key part in the deployment and optimization of Stratus as a core platform for fabrication and field coordination.

The Construction Technology Specialist will work closely with BIM, VDC, sheet metal, fabrication, and IT teams to help map software architecture, support system integrations, develop add-ins and workflow shortcuts, and ensure teams are able to leverage technology efficiently across projects.

This role will begin as a 3-month temporary assignment focused on supporting current technology initiatives and deployments. If the individual performs well and there is a continued business need, the position may convert to a permanent full-time role. This position is ideal for someone who understands construction technology ecosystems, fabrication workflows, and CAD-based environments, and enjoys solving complex workflow challenges through smart integrations and automation.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Construction Technology Deployment
    • Support the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Stratus across Therma fabrication and construction operations.
    • Assist with building workflows that enable Stratus to function as a central platform for fabrication tracking, project coordination, and shop/field visibility.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure teams can efficiently adopt and utilize Stratus capabilities.
    • Stratus API plug-ins for data analytics and integration with our Power BI and ERP systems
    • Autodesk API systems for management customization
    • MS365 API and plug ins for two way communication between office, stratus, and Autodesk software.

Software Architecture & Integrations

  • Help map and document construction technology architecture, ensuring alignment between Stratus and other internal systems.
  • Assist with designing integrations that allow teams to become primarily reliant on Stratus as a central data environment.
  • Work with IT and VDC teams to identify opportunities for automation, improved data flow, and workflow optimization.
  • Evaluate and implement software shortcuts, plug-ins, and custom add-ins that improve operational efficiency.

CAD & Fabrication Technology Support

  • Provide support for sheet metal fabrication workflows and associated construction technology tools.
  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of CAD duct add-ins and related modeling tools.
  • Partner with BIM and VDC teams to ensure digital fabrication data aligns with shop and field requirements.
  • Help troubleshoot technology issues related to modeling, fabrication data, and integration with fabrication systems.

Workflow Optimization & User Support

  • Work with project teams, fabrication shops, and field leaders to identify opportunities to streamline digital workflows.
  • Assist with training, documentation, and user support for construction technology tools.
  • Serve as a resource for users experiencing issues related to Stratus, CAD integrations, or fabrication workflows.

 

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in construction technology, VDC, BIM, or digital fabrication environments.
  • Familiarity with Stratus or similar fabrication management platforms.
  • Experience with CAD platforms and sheet metal modeling tools, including CAD duct add-ins or fabrication-related plug-ins.
  • Understanding of construction software integrations and technology architecture.
  • Experience developing or implementing software add-ins, plug-ins, or workflow automation tools.
  • Experience supporting mechanical, sheet metal, or MEP contractor environments.

 

Compensation: $115k-$145k, depending on experience
