CMTA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team in Media, PA. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for client engagement, business development, and project delivery.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead all aspects of energy performance contracting projects, from project development and engineering design through construction, commissioning, and measurement & verification. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while identifying new opportunities and helping expand CMTA's presence in both existing and emerging markets.

Candidates with experience in energy services, consulting engineering, commissioning, HVAC systems, or performance contracting are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout all phases of performance contracting projects
  • Educate clients on the benefits of energy performance contracting and identify opportunities to improve building performance and operational efficiency
  • Communicate CMTA's unique approach and value proposition, including technical, operational, and financial benefits
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Participate in business development efforts, including client meetings, presentations, industry events, and proposal development
  • Lead facility assessments, site visits, audits, and energy analyses
  • Oversee energy calculations, engineering evaluations, and project development activities
  • Direct engineering teams in the preparation of drawings, specifications, and design deliverables
  • Lead bidding and procurement efforts to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
  • Collaborate with clients to finalize project scope and performance contracts
  • Partner with construction managers to ensure successful project execution
  • Lead commissioning activities to validate system and project performance
  • Support clients throughout project closeout and warranty periods
  • Collaborate with Measurement & Verification (M&V) professionals to develop first-year M&V reports
  • Apply knowledge of state-specific K-12 design-build procurement processes and requirements as applicable

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with an energy services company, consulting engineering firm, commissioning provider, or related industry
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems and energy conservation strategies
  • Demonstrated experience leading client-facing engineering projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Experience with energy performance contracting projects
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design, commissioning, and building controls
  • Experience supporting K-12 education clients and design-build procurement processes
  • Proven success in business development and client relationship management
  • Familiarity with energy audits, measurement & verification (M&V), and energy modeling
