CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Consulting Engineering. This position will lead a team of engineers in designing the mechanical aspects of energy-efficient buildings for various clients. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader who thrives on mentoring engineers, managing projects, and working directly with clients to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is involved in all phases of the project, from design to construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
• Oversee and manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and budget adherence.
• Interface with clients, architects, and project stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable mechanical designs.
• Design heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing systems for buildings from concept through construction.
• Review and approve technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project goals.
• Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to engineers to improve efficiency and performance.
• Evaluate contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs to determine conformance with contract documents.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and data to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system malfunctions, implement solutions, and optimize project outcomes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and energy-efficient building solutions.
Desired Experience:
• 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in consulting engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT certification considered.
• Strong Project Management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Expertise in HVAC systems, cooling and heating plants, and MEP design.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for design and documentation.
• Experience in client interfacing and business development.
