Overview:
CMTA is seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer or Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Senior Plumbing Engineer on a diverse portfolio of commercial projects. We’re looking for a proactive, technically skilled individual who enjoys solving challenges, supporting clients, and leading projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design complete plumbing systems for commercial buildings, including calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and isometric riser diagrams
  • Develop layouts for domestic hot/cold water systems, waste/vent piping, and storm drainage
  • Determine preliminary fire protection and domestic water demands based on building types
  • Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and schematics
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and other engineers in meetings and throughout project phases
  • Prepare electronic responses to RFIs and design reviews
  • Guide and mentor junior staff in design best practices
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design documents and applicable codes
  • Research and apply standard engineering techniques for system layout, equipment selection, and pipe sizing
  • Evaluate design proposals for feasibility, cost, and maintenance considerations
  • Ensure designs meet code requirements and sustainability guidelines (LEED, WELL, etc.)
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and attention to project needs

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of plumbing design experience in the commercial building sector
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems design, including calculations and documentation

Salary Range: $70,000 – $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
