CMTA, formerly known as AMA Group, is looking to fill our 2026 Summer Internship program; this opportunity will be within our New York City, Madison, New Jersey, Los Angeles, or Miami, Florida. office. We are looking for Juniors in college who are interested in learning more about building systems design.

Key Responsibilities:

As a 2026 Summer Intern, you will work with engineers on tenant interior and/or core & shell projects. In your role, you will: 

  • Design tasks for projects, attend and assist in surveys and/or construction field inspections, along with the review of contractor shop drawings 
  • Develop an understanding of system design for tenant interior commercial projects, and/or core and shell-based building projects. Intern will also be exposed to the National Building Codes 
  • Assist in the design of electrical and fire protection/plumbing systems based on the candidates’ field of study 
  • Mechanical Engineer will become familiar with HVAC load programs 
  • Electrical Engineer Interns will become familiar with electrical load calculations, feeder voltage drops, lighting control design systems, Fire Alarm system design, etc. 
  • Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer Interns will assist in Hydraulic calculations for sprinkler system design 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering or related program. May 2027 Graduation preferred 
  • Demonstrated interest in Engineering or Engineering Design 
  • Must be familiar with AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and/or Revit 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Willingness to learn  
  • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance available internally for this internship
