Job Description:
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Consulting Engineering. This position involves working with a team of engineers and design team members to develop energy-efficient mechanical systems for various clients and complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a leader, self-motivated, and committed to supporting team and client success through high-quality design and project management.

Office Location:
The position is based in Lafayette, CA. 

Required Experience:

  • 1-5+ years of experience with MEP design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • FE Registration is required with potential for PE registration
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD

Responsibilities:

  • The position is responsible for designing mechanical systems, including HVAC, for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects. Additional duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze client design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
