Construction Management Internship

CMTA, formerly known as AMA Group, is looking to fill out our 2026 Construction Management Summer Internship program; this opportunity will be within our New York City office.  

As a Summer Intern, you will assist with both office and field activities, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle - from estimating and preconstruction through onsite coordination and project close-out. This role offers the opportunity to work with major clients including NBCUniversal, Disney, NBC Sports, and A+E Networks, and to visit job sites throughout NYC, Northern New Jersey, and Connecticut. Most work will take place in our NYC office. 

This internship is ideal for students who want to explore a career in the construction industry and build foundational skills in project management, estimating, and field operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

As a Project Engineer / Estimator Intern, you will support Superintendents, Project Managers, and Estimators by assisting with tasks across multiple active and upcoming projects. Responsibilities may include: 

  • Assisting with project coordination, scheduling, and documentation
  • Supporting quantity takeoffs and cost estimating activities
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs
  • Tracking project progress and helping maintain logs (submittals, RFIs, change orders)
  • Interacting with subcontractors and vendors to support project needs
  • Participating in site walks, field inspections, and project meetings
  • Supporting close-out activities and organization of turnover packages
  • Learning and using construction management tools such as Procore and Bluebeam 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Construction Management, or related program. May 2027 Graduation preferred
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; attention to detail is essential
  • Familiarity with construction documents, estimating software, and Excel-based cost models
  • Basic understanding of construction means and methods, low-voltage systems, or interior buildouts, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
