Legence is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Communications Specialist to help shape and amplify internal storytelling, strengthen the employee experience, and support our employer brand. This role is ideal for a communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys writing and creative development, and wants to grow their skills across internal communications, content creation, and employee engagement.

What You’ll Do

Employee Experience, Engagement & Internal Communications

  • Support the development and delivery of internal communication campaigns that inform, engage, and inspire employees.
  • Draft and edit clear, consistent messages for newsletters, intranet content, employee announcements, leadership updates, and presentations.
  • Help activate company culture through stories, employee spotlights, and content that highlights Legence’s mission, values, and impact.
  • Maintain a library of communications assets (photos, videos, stories, templates) used across the enterprise.

Content Creation & Channel Support

  • Write, edit, and format content across internal platforms, email, and social media.
  • Manage timelines within the editorial calendar, coordinating with teams to ensure content is delivered on schedule.
  • Create and publish digital assets that reinforce Legence’s brand and support employee engagement.
  • Contribute to the planning and logistics of internal and employer‑brand events, including town halls, celebrations, and culture activations.


Employer Brand & Talent Acquisition Partnership

  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to bring Legence’s employer brand and candidate value proposition (CVP) to life across channels.
  • Write and support content for career site updates, candidate communications, recruiting campaigns, and social storytelling that reflects what it’s like to work at Legence.
  • Help showcase authentic employee experiences by collecting stories, quotes, visuals, and moments that support recruitment marketing initiatives.
  • Produce and schedule social media content that supports hiring priorities, talent campaigns, and culture moments in collaboration with TA and Creative.
  • Assist with light design and formatting of employer brand materials (graphics, spotlights, job post visuals, culture posts, etc.).


Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, marketing, talent acquisition, and business unit teams to support communication needs for programs, initiatives, and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, alignment, and visual consistency.
  • Help review content for clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Support ongoing improvements to internal communication processes, channel performance, and content quality.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience preferred in internal communications, digital marketing, employee engagement, or related areas.
  • Exceptionally strong writing and editing skills with an ability to tailor voice and tone to different audiences.
  • Experience supporting social media channels and basic digital content creation.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong, proficient writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Positive, collaborative mindset with comfort working cross‑functionally.
  • Light data tracking/analysis experience (content performance, engagement metrics).
  • Interest in graphic design, event coordination, or creative storytelling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and common communication tools.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, Asana, WordPress, or Sprout Social is a plus.
  • Passion for brand consistency and elevating employee and candidate experience.
  • Understanding of sustainability or the built environment is a bonus.
