CMTA, a Legence company, is looking for a Commissioning Technician (MEP) who is energetic and highly motivated to support our firm in Charlotte, NC. We are seeking an individual with a strong technical background and field experience to join our multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm. We support our clients at every stage of the commissioning process with a focus on understanding their goals and delivering results. Our firm strives to provide premier commissioning services to our valued existing and new clients.
The Commissioning Technician position will collaborate with contractors, vendors, architects / engineers, and clients to validate and deliver energy related systems. This position requires travel within the Carolinas, flexible work hours and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. The successful applicant must demonstrate a positive attitude and the necessary skills to create and maintain positive professional relationships with all disciplines involved in the commissioning process.
This position will have the following responsibilities:
Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, reports, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
Lead meetings and interact with Contractors, Architect/ Engineers, and Ownership groups.
Conduct and document field inspections.
Observe startup and pre-functional testing activities.
Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve MEP operation issues.
Develop startup and testing forms.
Administer functional testing of MEP and control systems.
Collect test data and prepare closeout / presentation reports.
Organize and participate in user-training sessions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years field experience with hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting as one of the following roles: Commissioning Agent; Control Technician; HVAC Service Technician; Construction Administrator with MEP design and testing experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Highly organized, with ability to prioritize and manage fast paced projects.
Plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical testing experience.
Utility plant (chiller / boiler / pump / xfer gear / generator) testing experience.
Knowledge of direct digital control systems as applied to HVAC systems.
Knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures and operations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Ability to climb ladders, have full range of movement and work extended periods on construction sites.
Commissioning Certification (QCxP, CBCP, BSC, CCP) is a plus.
Engineering degree is a plus.
DDC controls programming experience is a plus.
LEED Certification / Commissioning Experience is a plus.
Retro-Commissioning experience including procedures and testing is a plus.
