Summary
We are seeking a skilled Building Commissioning Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering commissioning services across new construction, retro-commissioning, re-commissioning, and continuous commissioning projects. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for sustainable design and system performance. Experience with LEED, WELL, B3, ASHRAE Level 1–3 Audits, and measurement/verification techniques is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute commissioning services for large, complex projects across the region.
Oversee commissioning of HVAC systems, as well as plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, nurse call, and other building systems.
Participate in project meetings to align commissioning efforts with design intent, owner’s requirements, and project schedules.
Support clients in achieving sustainability certifications such as LEED and B3.
Review equipment submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design and functional testing requirements.
Conduct pre-functional inspections and field observations to identify and resolve issues before start-up.
Develop and execute pre-functional and functional testing procedures based on industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve system/equipment issues, coordinating re-testing as needed.
Provide training and guidance to owner’s operation and maintenance staff on system operations and best practices.
Stay current on emerging building systems technology through regional industry events and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications
2-6 years of commissioning (Cx) experience.
Strong ability to collaborate in construction environments.
Degree in engineering, architecture, environmental science, or related field preferred.
Industry certifications such as:
AABC Commissioning Agent (CxA), BCxA, ASHRAE CPMP, CCP, or NEBB BSC
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in commissioning.
Interest in mentoring and knowledge-sharing with colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular sitting, talking, hearing, and vision. Frequent walking and standing are expected, with occasional climbing, balancing, reaching, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying objects over 20 lbs.
Salary Range: $75k-$90k (based on experience)
