Innovative Mechanical & Design (IMD), a Legence company
IMD is a full-service heating, cooling, plumbing and repair company offering comprehensive turnkey solutions. Our experienced team aspires to build, design, and create the resolutions you need using intelligent, creative methods that both meet and exceed industry standards. Together, we collaborate on each project to offer a “think out of the box approach” to solutions because we believe in assisting our clients with options and quality consultations.
The Client Support Sales Representative is an entry point into IMD's sales organization, combining hands-on client support with foundational sales and estimating experience. This role is responsible for handling small quotes, ordering parts for active projects, and supporting the estimating of service agreements and small projects — serving as a responsive, reliable point of contact for clients while learning the technical and commercial fundamentals of IMD's business.
This is a structured growth role. After six months, the Representative undergoes a formal performance review; upon successful evaluation, the role transitions into Service Agreement Sales, with expanded ownership, client relationships, and sales-credit eligibility.
Key Responsibilities — First 6 Months
Small Quotes & Client Support
• Assist in preparing and issue quotes for small repairs, part replacements, and minor scope requests
• Serve as a responsive point of contact for clients on quote status, order status, and general questions
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of quotes and client communications in IMD's CRM / Sales Team Tracker
Parts Ordering
• Order parts and materials for active projects and service work based on scopes provided by project managers, technicians, and estimators
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times
• Track outstanding orders and proactively communicate delays or issues to the project team and client
Service Agreement Estimating
• Assist in drafting and pricing preventive maintenance / service agreement proposals using established labor and equipment rate structures
• Gather site and equipment information needed to scope service agreements accurately
• Support renewal preparation for existing service agreement clients
Small Project Estimating
• Prepare estimates for small mechanical projects, including basic takeoffs, vendor quote collection, and pricing assembly
• Assemble client-facing proposals and scopes of work under the guidance of senior estimators
• Learn IMD's estimating tools, pricing standards, and proposal formats
Career Path: Transition at 6 Months
At the six-month mark, the Representative's performance is formally reviewed by their manager, evaluating quoting accuracy and turnaround, client responsiveness, parts-ordering reliability, and estimating proficiency. Upon a successful evaluation, the Representative transitions into a Service Agreement Sales role, taking on:
• Direct sales ownership of new and renewal service agreements, including prospecting and closing
• Management of an assigned book of small account renewals, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities
• Full sales-cycle responsibility, from lead generation through proposal delivery and close
• Sales-credit / commission eligibility in accordance with IMD's sales compensation plan
Representatives who are not yet ready to transition at the 6-month mark may continue in the Client Support Sales role with a follow-up review, at management's discretion.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in sales, customer service, estimating, or administrative support; experience in HVAC, mechanical, or construction industries preferred but not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple quotes and orders simultaneously
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable learning basic technical/mechanical concepts (HVAC, plumbing, piping) or eager to develop this knowledge
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); CRM or ERP experience a plus
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Valid driver's license; able to travel locally to client sites on an occasional basis
Compensation
• Salary Range: $75k - $80k (depending on experience)
Work Environment
Primarily office-based at IMD's Windsor, CO location, with occasional visits to client sites for project scoping or client meetings. Standard office equipment and computer use required.
