Assistant Intern

Location: New York, NY (Worldwide Plaza — Midtown Manhattan) | On-site

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Classification: Intern, part-time, non-exempt (hourly)

 

About the Role

CMTA is seeking an organized, detail-oriented intern to provide administrative and project support across our New York operations. This role works alongside multiple teams — operations, marketing, business development, and project delivery — and offers direct exposure to how a national MEP/FP engineering practice runs day to day. It's a strong fit for a student who is dependable, discreet, and comfortable taking initiative with limited direction.

 

What You'll Do

 

  • Prepare and format documents, agendas, spreadsheets, and presentation materials
  • Take meeting notes and track action items through to completion
  • Maintain trackers, distribution lists, and internal reference files
  • Support proposal and marketing efforts with formatting, assembly, and version control
  • Compile light research and summaries on markets, clients, or industry topics
  • Support cross-office coordination and follow-up between the New York office and other CMTA locations
  • Handle confidential information with consistent discretion

 

What You'll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; junior or senior standing preferred
  • Coursework in Business Administration, Construction Management, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through on multiple concurrent requests
  • Sound judgment and demonstrated reliability with sensitive information
  • Able to work on-site in Midtown Manhattan on a consistent weekly schedule

 

Compensation

$24.00 per hour.
