Warehouse Clerk

Summary/Objective:  

Employee assures that correct material is pulled from inventory in a timely manner and understands that accuracy and dependability is essential to his/her success.  Assists in completing the required duties of the department. 

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.
  • Organizes responsibilities in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Utilizes Fuel truck to make fuel runs to project sites as needed. 
  • Deliver and pick up of materials at job sites as needed.
  • Receives deliveries:
    • Check to see if the order is complete.
    • Provides a copy of the packing slip for the foreman.
    • Notifies the foreman that the material has been delivered.
    • Notifies the correct personnel on freight deliveries.
    • Stores deliveries in designated areas.
  • Pulls order as requested: 
    • Verbal requests or written requests. 
  • Helps with daily inventory cycle counts.
  • Helps to inventory material returned from job sites. 
  • Perform miscellaneous errands in a timely manner.
  • Be able to maintain sufficient inventory of material. 
  • Helps with building and yard maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for securing yard vehicles, equipment and yard gates at the end of day.  
  • Accounts for access, vehicle and equipment keys and stores in designated area.

 

Essential Functions

  • High School diploma or equivalent.   
  • Experience in the safe and proper loading of trailers.   
  • Experience in a warehouse and delivery environment, 2 years’ experience preferred.  
  • Knowledge of plumbing & sheet metal materials.
  • Able to operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification, 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., frequently walk, move, bend and stand.  
  • Personable and organized. 
  • Show initiative in completing tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willing to learn and use computerized inventory programs

  • Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Time Management – Managing one’s own time as it relates to the position and duties.

  • Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.

Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Physical demands:  
Warehouse:  Largely mobile, frequently walking, moving, bending, standing and lifting.  Able to lift up to 50 lbs. 

Pay Range: $25-$30 / Hour
