We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Contracts to join the Legence team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping how we manage contracts by implementing efficient systems and processes, working closely with business leaders, and ensuring our agreements run smoothly from start to finish. You’ll collaborate with teams across the company, provide guidance on contracts, and help resolve any challenges that arise. Responsibilities:
Evaluate and select a CLM provider that meets organizational needs.
Design and implement a streamlined contract lifecycle protocol in partnership with the chosen CLM provider.
Collaborate with business leaders to establish contract protocols and secure buy-in for new processes.
Oversee contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring smooth approvals, execution, and accountability.
Provide expert advice and actionable recommendations on contracts, proposals, and related business matters.
Conduct periodic reviews of contracts and provide resolution support for arising issues.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding contract statuses and updates.
Coordinate with legal counsel on all essential contract activities.
Partner with finance and accounting teams to support audits and other financial requirements.
Work with the risk management team to address insurance, bonding, and other needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in contract management or related position
Hands-on experience implementing and using a CLM system.
Strong understanding of contract law and prior experience in contract management or a related role.
Proficiency in drafting, negotiating, and managing construction-related contracts.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with a variety of contract types, including MSAs, AIA, NDAs, and CAs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and proactive approach.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
